For more than a decade, The Firesides have played their music for barn dances and gatherings across the Driftless Area of Southwestern Wisconsin and beyond. Their sound is rooted in the traditions of Appalachian and Midwestern fiddle tunes, cowboy ballads, the blues, and timeless song-gems, all woven together with their original songs that carry those traditions forward.

The duo—Meghan Dudle (fiddle) and Daniel Kenneth Libby (guitar)—first crossed paths in the Twin Cities music scene, where they played separately in the bands The DitchLilies and The Floorbirds. Since settling in rural Wisconsin, they’ve made their home in the historic arts community of Mineral Point, where they continue to share their music.

Meghan and Daniel have performed on major festival stages across the U.S. and abroad, including The Tanned Tin Music Festival (Spain), Bristol Rhythm & Roots Reunion (TN), SXSW (TX), Boats and Bluegrass (MN), Sugar Maple Festival (WI), and White Oak Folk Festival (WI). 

The Fireside’s music is featured in the film Cowboys: A Documentary Portrait, and Daniel’s music is featured in the documentary A Short Distance, a film about the Tanned Tin Music Festival, as well as an award-winning series of commercials for Cavender's.

Beyond the stage, The Firesides share the joy of tradition by offering music lessons as well as Appalachian clogging workshops for all ages.

Both Meghan and Daniel have solo albums available, and a new Firesides album is on the way!
